Where two serving officers are married or cohabiting and are both members of the Full GIS Scheme(s) they may be entitled to claim a discounted rate against one subscription. Eligibility is measured and discounts are applicable from the date of application only.

How Much Do I pay

Current cost (2009) £23.60  per pay period, premium may go up in April upon renewal of scheme, but we endeavour to minimize increases. (Top up options are also available for increased life cover please see seperate section)

There is a spouse/partner option available to those members who already subscribe to the group insurance scheme, which is competitively priced at £5.50 for £50,000 of life insurance (Top up options also available please see seperate section)

How Do I Join?

To apply to join Merseyside Police Federations Group Insurance Scheme you will need to be a subscribing member of Merseyside Police Federation and complete and return the following forms.

• Federation Initial application to GIS form
  
  
• Late entry declaration of health form and a
  
  

These should then be returned to the Federation Office for processing.
