North West Police Benevolent Fund (NWPBF)

Appears on your pay advice under the code NWPY

The NWPBF is funded by pay roll giving donations from officers across the North West Region and in turn it supports serving and retired officers and the widows, widowers, or dependants of these officers in times of hardship, and need.

The Fund is administered by a committee who meet once a month to discuss applications from members, which may result in the award of an interest free loan and/or a grant.

The Fund also supports the convalescent homes at Harrogate and Auchterarder with 98 pence in every pound being forwarded to support this very important service. Applications from contributing serving and retired officers to attend convalescence can be made by contacting your Force Welfare Office.

Contributions to the North West Police Benevolent fund include a commitment to the St Georges Fund, which provides for Police Orphans. Providing a weekly allowance, Christmas gift and Holiday allowance.

Officers would normally begin support of the NWPBF on entry to the force, however is you should like to join, you still can but there may be limitations placed on your access to convalescence or award application in your first twelve months, and you may also be asked to contribute towards ‘back subscriptions’.

For more information please contact the Federation Joint Branch Board Treasurer
