No Agreement on O2 Discounted Service
Sometime ago we were approached by members who had been advised that O2 were prepared to offer Merseyside Police Force Staff a discounted service.
O2 insist that any offer would need to be placed within Force secure systems and so the question was asked of the then Chief Constable if the connection could be made.
The force responded by asking the Federation to pursue the O2 offer as a member service, which we have been doing over several months.
Unfortunately the outcome of that process is that O2 are unable to offer Merseyside Police Staff a discounted service.
All options have been explored, by all parties and due to numerous security issues and ethics of how benefits are offered an agreement has not been possible.
In brief, O2 have strict security protocols that mean they will only allow access via a secure site, the Force policy prohibits the use of the Force internet or intranet systems
for commercial purposes and to make the Federation site secure to the level required is cost prohibitive.
If this position changes we will of course keep you informed
