Merseyside Police Federation Joint Branch Board (JBB) is responsible for the effective application of Federation policy in Merseyside as a subsidiary of the Police Federation of England and Wales.

The Police Federation as a staff association is fully committed to promoting fairness and equality for all. Representing police officers below the rank of Superintendent in matters affecting their welfare and efficiency, the Federation is non-political and administered entirely by serving officers.

There are 43 Police Forces in England and Wales with each force having an autonomous Police Federation, whose composite Board(s) are entirely elected by its members, in rank; Constable, Sergeant and Inspector, these separate boards then sit together as the Joint Branch Board.

The Police Federation is wholly committed to equal opportunities and to enhancing quality of service to the public. The current Police Federation of England and Wales, Joint Central Committee Chairman is Mr Paul McKeever and the General Secretary is Mr Steve Williams.
